Internet already has a decalogue of illegal practices. The Federal Trade Commission (FCT) from USA has published a list which contains the 10 most common fraud made under the Network

Auction scams, credit card fraud, bogus business opportunities or deceit in tourism and travel are some of the terms listed in the list, drawn from complaints from users.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from USA, the body which oversees competition and is responsible for consumer protection, has just published a list of the 10 most common scams that can be performed via the Internet. Thus, the FTC report is the result of an initiative by the agencies to protect consumers in several countries, including Germany, Britain or Canada. ‘We want the cyber scam artists know that we are assembling a coalition of consumer protection worldwide, “said Jodie Bernstein, head the Office of Consumer Protection, reports Europa Press. The Decalogue of the Federal Trade Commission, made from complaints made by consumers themselves, consider that these are the most common assumptions:

1. Auctions: Some marketplaces offer a wide selection of products at very low prices. Once consumers have sent money can happen to receive something with less value than they thought, or worse, who do not receive anything.
2. Internet access services: The consumer receives an offer of free services. Acceptance implies a commitment to long-term contracts with high penalties for cancellation.
3. Credit cards: In some websites, especially for adults, called the number on the credit card on the pretext of checking that the user is over 18 years. The real goal is to charge fees not requested.

8. Business Opportunities: Becoming a leader of yourself and make lots of money is everyone’s dream. On the Web offers plenty to make fortunes by investing in an apparent business opportunity that ends up being a scam.
9. Investments: Promises of quick investments into big profits are not met and involve great risks for users. As a general rule it is inadvisable to rely on the pages to ensure security of investment with 100%.
10. Miracle products and services: Some Web sites offer products and services that ensure cure all kinds of ailments. Some people put all their hopes in these offers usually are far from providing assurance of cure.
